Con un sencillo pero sentido acto, el Gobernador de Risaralda Victor Manuel Tamayo Vargas, acompañado de la Primera Dama Nathalia Sierra Ramírez, su gabinete y con presencia de las fuerzas militares y de policía, el representante a la Cámara Anibal Hoyos, diputados, alcaldes del departamento y autoridades civiles y eclesiásticas, se conmemoró el aniversario 56 del departamento de Risaralda.
Se inició con la interpretación de los himnos de Colombia, Risaralda y Pereira a cargo de la Banda Sinfónica de Pereira y una oración de acción de gracias dirigida por el Pastor Juan Carlos Mora y el Padre Juan Manuel Vargas, en representación del obispo Monseñor Rigoberto Corredor.
Acto seguido, se presentó la ofrenda floral en honor a los fundadores, donde el Gobernador en compañía de Karen Zape alcaldesa encargada de Pereira, y los comandantes de Departamento de Policía de Risaralda, Coronel Simón Eduardo Cornejo Escamilla; el comandante de la Octava Brigada Del Ejército Nacional, Coronel Carlos Eduardo Vanegas Ávila; el comandante de la Policía Metropolitana de Pereira Coronel Javier Raúl Gallego Duque y el comandante del Batallón de Artillería Número 8 Batalla De San Mateo, Coronel Carlos Mauricio Salas Esteban.
Durante su intervención, el Gobernador Victor Manuel Tamayo, agradeció a los presentes y felicitó a los risaraldenses por ser protagonistas en la historia del departamento.
“una felicitación sincera en nuestras fiestas aniversarias, y tal como lo poetizó el maestro Luis Carlos González, hoy hace 56 años en una aurora inicial de febrero arrogante y yo diría que maravillosamente, surgió Risaralda”.
Así mismo el mandatario anunció la entrega de un hogar de paso, ubicado en el barrio San Jorge, que será manejado en conjunto con la comunidad de los Camilianos y el Hospital San Jorge, como albergue para que familiares de enfermos, que no tengan donde pernoctar y alimentarse por razones económicas, puedan encontrar allí donde pasar, mientras se da el alta de la persona que están acompañando.
