Como ya está institucionalizado días previos a la realización del Consejo Comunitario, se cumplió la jornada “Pereira Te Quiero Limpia”.
Los residentes de la comuna, pudieron conocer la oferta institucional de la Alcaldía de Pereira y sus descentralizados, antes de iniciar el Consejo Comunitario.
También se realizó una muestra cultural y artística con los talentos locales y la cantante MafeG Music, de la Secretaría de Cultura de Pereira.

Con una gran asistencia y un escenario adornado con mensajes de gratitud, se realizó el Consejo Comunitario “El Alcalde en mi Barrio”, presidido por el alcalde Mauricio Salazar, acompañado de su equipo de gobierno y Dayana Gómez, directora de la Diger y madrina de la comuna Perla del Otún, a la que pertenecen 16.200 habitantes, distribuidos en 21 barrios.
El Alcalde se mostró entusiasta ante la acogida de la comunidad por la labor que viene desarrollando al frente de la Administración Municipal, además de hacer importantes anuncios dentro de los que se destacan la intervención de la vía principal, dotación de pupitres, computadores e intervención a la infraestructura para el colegio Byron Gaviria, cobertura del 100% para los niños que cumplan con los requisitos para ser beneficiarios del PAE y la apertura de una de las sedes de la Red Pública Veterinaria, en donde se prestarán los servicios de consulta veterinaria, curaciones, laboratorios, esterilizaciones y vacunación.
Indicó el mandatario local, que los consejos comunitarios son una estrategia prioritaria para su administración, asegurando que “tengo claro el compromiso con la ciudad y es trabajar de puertas abiertas y de la mano con las comunidades. Es difícil para mí poder atender tantas personas que quieren una cita personal, pero por eso creamos estos espacios, que nos permiten que haya un diálogo permanente entre el Alcalde, su equipo de Gobierno y las comunidades, a través del Plan Padrino, para que como en este caso con Dayana, que a través de ella ustedes pueden gestionar todos aquellos asuntos de interés para su comunidad”.
Recalcó también Mauricio Salazar, que “hemos logrado conformar una Red Pública Veterinaria donde tenemos varias sedes y acá en este sector vamos a abrir una que será gratis en el Centro de Emprendimiento. Aquí se va a tener atención médico veterinaria, procedimientos menores y esterilizaciones permanentes, que serán gratuitas para las familias que no tengan que pagar su atención”.
Durante la jornada Ana Beiba Molina, presidenta de la Junta de Acción de El Paraíso, le hizo entrega al Alcalde de una placa de reconocimiento por la labor realizada durante lo que va de su administración.
“Hace muchos años no teníamos un Alcalde presente en la comunidad, que nos escucha y nos atiende y que sí nos representa”, aseguró la presidenta de la JAC El Paraíso.
Por su parte Vitelvina Muñoz, líder de la comunidad también resaltó la labor realizada por el alcalde Mauricio Salazar y la madrina de la comuna, indicando que “pido un aplauso para nuestro Alcalde y reconocernos el trabajo de nuestra madrina y queremos agradecer que esté presente en nuestra comuna, porque llevábamos muchos años sin la presencia de un Alcalde aquí”.
Paula Molina, rectora Institución Educativa Byron Gaviria, declaró que “me siento muy satisfecha y contenta de ver el compromiso del Alcalde, desde el inicio de su administración nos empezó a dar unos recursos importantes para la institución, para el arreglo de las unidades sanitarias, así como los anuncios de hoy, en mejora de tantas necesidades que en realidad se tienen y que se pudo dar cuenta de primera mano”.
Para finalizar Jhon Edison Loaiza, administrador del Parque El Oso, indicó que “esta es una oportunidad muy bonita para la comunidad de poder contarle las necesidades, pero también conocer y agradecer porque se están haciendo muy buenas cosas”.
En lo que va corrido de 2024 la Alcaldía de Pereira ha hecho una intervención importante en la comuna, donde se destacan entre otras realizaciones:
Reparación de 30 luminarias de 48 reportadas.
Intervención Puesto de Salud.
Intervención Institución Educativa Byron Gaviria.
Mantenimiento de parques y cancha El Paraíso.
Labores de jardinería, poda y tala de árboles.
Intervención señalización vial.
Jornada de Choque con la Empresa de Aseo.
Programa Parques Vivos.
Formación en danza con 20 alumnos.
Formación en cuerdas pulsadas con 26 alumnos.
Formación en Banda Músico Marcial con 70 alumnos.
Programa de Hábitos y Estilos de Vida Saludables 3 veces por semana.
Programa de Fútbol 3 veces por semana.
Programa de natación.
Vacaciones recreativas.
Centro Vida con 160 adultos mayores beneficiados.
Mejoramientos de vivienda.
30 jornadas de vacunación, desparasitación y esterilización y 13 vacunaciones antirrábicas para caninos y felinos.
Sede del Hospital Público Veterinario, donde se prestan servicios de consulta veterinaria, curaciones, laboratorios, esterilizaciones y vacunación.
