Mediante una carta el gobernador de Risaralda Victor Manuel Tamayo le solicitó al Presidente de la República Gustavo Petro una ayuda especial para transportar en helicóptero un motor que se requiere trasladar desde el municipio de Mistrató hasta el corregimiento de Puerto de Oro, ya que dicha máquina pesa cerca de una tonelada y fue adquirido por el Departamento para ser utilizado en el trapiche de la comunidad indígena, reemplazando de esta manera el proceso de tracción humana que allí se realiza diariamente.
Con este nuevo motor se brindará un mejor bienestar a 160 familias indígenas y también a los animales que viven en este corregimiento, el más apartado de Risaralda. Debido a la lejanía del lugar, unas 12 horas en mula y por lo agreste del camino entre montañas, no es posible transportar el motor vía terrestre.
