Ante los medios de comunicación de la ciudad, el candidato a la Alcaldía de Pereira
Mauricio Salazar Peláez, anunció su determinación de no asistir a partir de la fecha
a debates y foros, puesto que estos espacios han perdido su propósito de socializar
las diferentes propuestas a los pereiranos para que éstos tomen su decisión de
manera libre y consciente, y se han convertido en escenario de ataques personales,
que no solo irrespetan a los ciudadanos, sino a quienes de manera seria y
responsable, organizan y convocan estos encuentros.
“Siempre estaré a favor del debate serio, con altura y basado en las propuestas,
pero la decisión que hoy tomo, es por respeto a los ciudadanos y organizadores de
estos espacios a quienes agradezco y reconozco su esfuerzo por promover una
campaña con un voto informado como lo merecen los electores, que están
analizando las hojas de vida y las iniciativas de quienes ponemos nuestro nombre
a su criterio. Cualquiera de los candidatos y candidatas que hoy nos encontramos
en campaña con el objetivo de dirigir los destinos de la ciudad en los próximos 4
años, no merecemos ser blanco de ataques y mucho menos nuestras familias”.
Continuó diciendo el candidato:
“No me voy a prestar para recibir más ataques y mucho menos para que las
personas que me acompañan en este camino, como mis amigos y mi familia, se
vean afectados con improperios y comentarios que sólo desinforman. Mi campaña
es pacífica, honesta y realizada con mucho amor y respeto”.
Declaró que aspirar a la alcaldía de Pereira, se debe convertir en una oportunidad
para que cada candidato demuestre su experiencia, su hoja de vida, sus propuestas,
sus proyectos para trabajar por la comunidad; nunca debe ser la oportunidad para
atacar y desinformar porque así no se construye la democracia.
A pesar de su decisión, el candidato Mauricio Salazar se mostró interesado en
seguir compartiendo sus ideas con la comunidad y para ello manifestó:
“Aunque no asistiré a debates ni foros con otros aspirantes, sí estoy listo para asistir
a cualquier invitación que me haga un colectivo, fundación o grupo de ciudadanos
para conversar con ellos y compartir mis ideas con quienes me quieran escuchar;
estoy listo para asistir allí donde me invite la ciudadanía”.
Por último, Mauricio manifestó que un debate es un escenario para compartir ideas
con respeto, pero nunca un escenario para atacar a otra persona con groserías y
sin escrúpulos y que su decisión no tiene como objetivo proteger su nombre,
obedece sí, a respetar a los pereiranos que quieren escuchar propuestas y no
peleas e invitó a todos los candidatos a realizar una campaña donde se defiendan
los valores, el respeto y la defensa por la democracia.
