La emergencia fue atendida por el Cuerpo de Bomberos Oficiales y Voluntarios de Pereira, con el apoyo de Bomberos Oficiales de Dosquebradas y Santa Rosa de Cabal, con un total de 95 unidades.
También se hicieron labores de búsqueda y rescate de una madre y sus 5 hijos que se refugiaron en zona boscosa.
Para la atención de la conflagración hubo 5 máquinas extintoras, 5 carro tanques, 3 ambulancias y 9 vehículos de soporte operacional.

El alcalde Mauricio Salazar hizo presencia en Galicia Baja, para demostrar su respaldo, acompañamiento y socializar el plan de acción para atender a las 70 familias que la madrugada del lunes perdieron sus viviendas a causa de otro incendio, que en menos de 72 horas se presentó en la ciudad de Pereira.
“De mi parte como alcalde de Pereira vengo a decirles que ustedes no están solos, tienen el respaldo de la Alcaldía de Pereira. Logré que el Comité Municipal de Gestión del Riesgo me aprobara declarar la Calamidad Pública en Pereira para atender esta emergencia que ustedes están viviendo y que además quiero que sepan, que ya dispusimos de unos recursos importantes para su atención de manera integral y poder mitigar esta crisis por la cual están atravesando”, aseguró Mauricio Salazar.
Así mismo, destacó el mandatario de los pereiranos, que al igual que las familias del Futuro Bajo, los damnificados de Galicia también accederán al subsidio de arrendamiento, mercados para garantizar la manutención de los próximos meses, así como kits de aseo, cocina, frazadas y acompañamiento psicosocial.
“Este acompañamiento va hasta cuando ustedes lo necesiten, si en materia de salud tienen algún requerimiento, inmediatamente procedemos a su atención. Las mascotas que hacen parte de las familias, igualmente están incluidas en el plan de acción y pueden tener la tranquilidad que los voy a acompañar hasta que ustedes se estabilicen en sus vidas cotidianas, cuenten con que hay un Alcalde que los quiere y que los va a acompañar hasta que lo necesiten”, recalcó Mauricio Salazar.
Futuro Bajo
Gracias a la convocatoria para la recolección de ayudas realizada desde la Administración Municipal, con el liderazgo de la gestora Social María Irma Noreña y bajo la coordinación de la Cruz Roja, Seccional Risaralda, a las familias de Futuro Bajo se les hizo entrega de 152 mercados, 152 kits de aseo y 152 kits de cocina, así como 429 elementos para abrigo.
