Un total de 17 atletas estarán representando al departamento y a Colombia en los XII Juegos Suramericanos que se realizarán en Asunción, Paraguay del 1 al 15 de octubre.
En al Casa del Deporte se entregó la insignia como muestra de orgullo y agradecimiento por el esfuerzo, disciplina y talento en el deporte.
El espacio también se aprovechó para exaltar a deportistas medallistas internacionales como los judokas Glatenferd Escobar, Miguel Bermúdez y Johan Rojas; las voleibolistas Laura Zapata y Salomé Giraldo; las esgrimistas María Fernanda Gutiérrez y Katherine Cuéllar, los ajedrecistas Christian Ríos y Sergio Barrientos y la promesa del BMX Sharick Salguero Chaverra.
