Con presencia de las máximas autoridades del Partido de la Unión por la Gente entre ellos, el secretario General Jorge Luis Jaraba Díaz, el director departamental Juan Carlos Valencia Montoya, el director en Pereira y concejal Carlos Mario Gil, Adriana Moreno asesora regional, y diferentes aspirantes a los cargos de elección popular en la capital risaraldense; se entregó el aval y las banderas de este movimiento a Mauricio Salazar Peláez, candidato a la Alcaldía de Pereira por la coalición Primero Pereira.
Durante la entrega del aval, Jorge Luis Jaraba Díaz, manifestó que una vez se analizaron las opciones, la propuesta de postulación por parte de los directorios departamental y municipal, así como la revisión de los estatutos, se tomó la decisión de brindar respaldo total a la candidatura de Mauricio Salazar a la Alcaldía de Pereira, considerando que es la persona idónea, que puede llevar las banderas de dicho partido para las próximas elecciones.
“El partido realizó una serie de procesos y procedimientos internos, de acuerdo a la ley y sus estatutos, tratando en lo posible de seleccionar candidatos que estén muy comprometidos en el mejoramiento de vida de sus comunidades, que sepan y entiendan la necesidad más sentida que tiene su población actualmente.
Luego de este estudio consideramos, que el aval del doctor Mauricio Salazar por el Partido de la Unión por la Gente, era conveniente y es él quien nos representa”, manifestó.
De igual manera recalcó que, “la unión que nosotros planteamos no es la unión interpartidista, es la unión del candidato con su gente, del candidato por las comunidades, del candidato por la problemática, del candidato por la solución, esa es la unión que el partido está planteando”, finalizó Jaraba Díaz.
El candidato por la coalición Primero Pereira Mauricio Salazar, empezó agradeciendo a los directivos del partido y toda su militancia, por el respaldo a su iniciativa y manifestó, “les agradezco infinitamente que me hayan acogido, les agradezco este acto de nobleza con Pereira, y que ustedes en su agenda tengan los intereses generales de la ciudad, por encima de cualquier agenda específica o particular del partido en Risaralda y en Pereira; la historia de la ciudad les va a reconocer este momento y estoy seguro que juntos, vamos a lograr que el sol vuelva a brillar para los pereiranos”.
Reiteró Mauricio Salazar que no se trata de su candidatura, se trata de un esfuerzo común por sacar a Pereira del caos y la incertidumbre, palabras que según dice el candidato, escucha a diario entre los ciudadanos que se le acercan para manifestarle su respaldo. “Todos los ciudadanos están invitados a esta causa, Primero Pereira, porque es asunto de todos”.
“Lo que pueden esperar los pereiranos de Mauricio Salazar es un Alcalde que cuide de Pereira con amor, que cuide de la ciudad con autoridad y liderazgo, quien se pondrá al servicio de todos los habitantes, para lograr que haya una dinámica económica, de crecimiento y prosperidad, que irradie el bienestar de todas las familias y que Pereira vuelva a ser en el contexto nacional, una ciudad atractiva
no solo para los turistas, sino para los inversionistas”, enfatizó.
Al respecto el director departamental del Partido de la Unión por la Gente, Juan Carlos Valencia Montoya, dijo “en las calles de Pereira he encontrado desilusión, desesperanza, tristeza. Mauricio representa la ilusión, la esperanza y la alegría porque nos une, y ese es el slogan que queremos liderar. Es un mensaje del partido de la Unión y un mensaje a todos los partidos para que construyamos una ciudad que a todos nos involucre. Invitamos a las organizaciones cívicas y gremiales para que nos ayuden a recuperar a Pereira del caos en el que está”.
“Mauricio Salazar es el candidato que entiende y conoce todas las necesidades de Pereira y sobre todo que puede cumplir. Hemos reconocido en él, el trabajo que ha venido haciendo como congresista, como personero, como concejal de Pereira y con el que compartí desde el recinto de la democracia.
