Luego de firmado el convenio interadministrativo con el Ministerio de Deporte, la Gobernación de Risaralda confirmó que los escenarios deportivos a su cargo ya tienen una hoja de ruta para su licitación y construcción, así fue informado tras una reunión del Comité Organizador de los Juegos Nacionales, el cual fue liderado por la nueva ministra de Deporte, la medallista olímpica Maria Isabel Urrutia y contó con la presencia del gobernador de Risaralda Víctor Manuel Tamayo Vargas.
Al término de la reunión, la Ministra ratificó que los XXII Juegos Deportivos Nacionales y VI Paranacionales seguirán teniendo como sede al Eje Cafetero en el año 2023 y destacó el interés de las diferentes ciudades y departamentos por una buena organización de las justas deportivas.
